Being a Heisman winner in Championship is gloom and boom for them. Only one quarterback has won a national championship under the BCS format which was Matt Leinart in 2004. The top 3 lost and that is not a total shock either.

I have not heard any Sportscaster, sports writer or sports anything say that Brady Quinn deserved to be there but they all were OK with him being invited.

The only way for the players from these little schools to have a chance is to get exposure, but the media and these nitwits, like the SID's you speak of, do absolutely nothing to allow them to get any exposure.

I'm glad you now understand the point I was trying to make. Mind you, I'm a BigTen fan at heart but living in Hawaii really makes it evident how much favoritism there is in college football the further east you travel(with the exception of USC, but then again they have definately proved themselves).

I think the real people controlling who gets invited to New York are the sports information directors at the universities with candidates. The whole Heisman hype thing has progressed to the point where now, votes are almost being locked up BEFORE the season even starts. I say they ought to outlaw the SID's fromm promoting for players for individual awards, and let the players actions on the field speak for themselves.

Oh and for what it's worth, I also said Quinn should not have been there. I thought they should have had five invited: Smith, Mike Hart, Steve Slaton, Brennan, and McFadden.

I agree Buzz, Quinn and Smith WILL NOT be successful NFL QB's. As for Smith, he may as well follow Charlie Wards footsteps into the NBA.

duffer, you sure do assume alot of things...like assuming I'm only referring to Colt Brennan getting screwed out of an invite.

Let me make this simple for you....Brady Quinn did not deserve an invite!

Troy Smith's stats were not even good enough alone to get the Heisman. He got it because he won games (except his last one thanks to the Heisman jinx). Based on this he deserved the Heisman...but not in a runaway.

As for McFadden, 3 other backs (Slaton, Rice and Johnson) were statistically better.

So why did these 3 get picked?...read the last sentence to my original post!

S o the three invited heisman candidates didn't have good games. Take a look at the opposition they faced as opposed to Hawaii's opposition in their bowl game. Doesn't quite compare does it.

The Heisman committee chooses to invite however many they feel should be there based upon the vote. You boy didn't get enough votes to be invited. Plain and simple fact. Had he gotten enough votes he would have been there. Maybe next year.

Nope. When have you ever heard me say that he should have won? You haven't. Should he have been in the running and did he deserve an invite to NY? You bet he did!

Look at the 3 that were invited. Not exactly stellar performances.

So duffer, are you seriously telling me the heisman doesn't favor player's from major schools? If so, I guess your alien friends stole your thoughts.

You seriously think the Heisman is rigged just because Brennan didn't win? That's funny. Seriously, that's funny. Do you think aliens are trying to read your thoughts too??
