Vick is having a hard re-entry. His Oline is not working as well as needed. But he still has an arm and he can still run!

Strange that McNabb was one of the main endorsers of the Eagles getting Vick. Will Donovan still feel this way if TDice's scenario plays out?
And for all those Eagles fans who are now boycotting the team because they signed Vick, I'm sure most will change their minds if they win 11-13 games and go on a Super Bowl run.

Wow recount, I didn't even realize that McNabbs yearly salary will be EIGHT figures next season. The eagles would have the same type of QB at half the price with Woofman Vick.

Should he last the season with Philly, he will be their starting QB next year and McNabb will be history. Ain't no team paying 5 mil for a backup QB.

I agree with PETA's cause. I just don't like some of the stuff they do to try to achieve it. They can be nuts sometimes.
As for Vick, I do hope he straightens his life out, although I think it's a bit too soon to give him a multi-million dollar NFL deal right after prison. He comitted a heinous crime and displayed total arrogance and a overt sense of entitlement before his arrest. Maybe prison has reformed him, but I still don't know at this point. I'm not against him getting a second chance IN SOCIETY. But I'm not really in favor of such an early second chance in the NFL.

I didn't like what he did, but he payed his dues and now he has a chance to show if he has changed. Everyone deserves a chance to show they have learned a lesson and has changed. Has he changed, don't know yet.
The PETA people need to respect that anyone can make mistakes. If he is still an a$$ then go ahead have at him, but give it a chance.
Frankly, the PETA people would drive a person to scoff down a hormone induced burger!

Vick signs 2-year deal with the Eagles
Now PETA is booking rooms in the City of Brotherly Love for the weekend of Sep. 20, when the Eagles' play their first home game vs. the Saints. And more rooms have been booked for Oakland on 10/18 when Vick is eligible for reinstatement.
I'm a little surprised that a large-market team with an established QB has signed him. I though it would be Dan Snyder, Al Davis, or some scrub QB-starved loser franchise like the Lions.
Philly comes to Atlanta on Dec. 6.

1.6 for the first year and 5.2 for the optional 2nd yr. Not to shabby for Vick.
Speaking of Pre-season. The ravens looked good, and the Skins welllll did not.
Have the Pats game on DVR as it plays at 11pm here tonight on NFL channel. I would like to see some play time for Brady.
UGH!!! DANG. I peaked at the NFL.com site for a minute and ruined it for myself. I saw the NE/Philly score. Well at least they won.

I think it would be best for both parties (NFL ownwers, and Vick himself) to take some time in the UFL just to see where he is at in terms of game readiness. Although I do have a feeling someone will take a gamble on him because they do not want another team to beat them to the punch.

I'm not a fan. Vick served hard time with hard thugs. I highly doubt he is out of shape. I have not researched this though. Has he lost or gained any wieght? He will be a great Full Back that can throw the ball.

Who's not giving him a chance? Right now 14 teams have definitely already said that they have no interest. Some team has to sign him...to get a chance. Right now, his best option is the 6 game UFL season for a coupla million bucks.

I like that Goodell has given Vick a chance even though when all the dog fighting stuff first happened I was hoping for banishment. Goodell is fair and brings down the hammer when he needs to, but Vick has done his time so that's a generous move to reinstate him. I'm curious to see which team the guy will land with...

I wouldn't want him on my team. As a QB, he isn't that good. And his style is only suited for certain types of offenses.

You may know some more things than all of us know about Vick lilron.
First off, you're assuming after a 2 year layoff that Vick will be able to perform to his previous standards. Which actually made him a great athlete, not a great QB. Cris Carter of ESPN Radio said that the first problem on the field will be with him being able to hold onto the ball. He just may have forgotten how hard James Harrison hits you.

Goodell is really doing Vick a FAVOR with his conditional reinstatement. A lot of us have forgotten how incredibly arrogant and stupid Vick was before his arrest. There was all this other stuff that Dice and Buzz mentioned, along with the dogfighting. If I did all the crap he did, my life would be completely over. Either I'd be in jail for life, or I'd be completely jobless and penniless when I got out, with no hope of earning a living anymore.
I'm not against him getting a second chance IF he's really learned his lesson and becomes a law-abiding citizen. And I'm not sure he has. Maybe he has, or maybe he's doing all this just to get back into the NFL. We don't know for sure.
You can't just gift-wrap a job for Vick immediately after his stint in the slammer. I think this transitional reinstatement is the right move.

"Let the man play so he can earn a living."
Let's examine that train of thought....If you or I were convicted of this same federal crime, do you honestly think our employers would be willing to re-instate us to our jobs once we did our time? I'd be willing to bet that a very large percentage if not all employers in the private sector would not give us the "second" chance.
I'm not opposed of the guy earning a living and even in his preferred profession but if ever there was someone that needed a demotion from the bigs down to the farm clubs, this is the man. He needs to EARN the living not have it gift wrapped to him.
Dice, don't forget his entourage stealing watches and driving his vehicle in drug runs...oh and the finger gestures and the illegal taking of retirement funds from one of his companies and the numerous lawsuits from banks due to him defaulting on various loans for all of his shady business dealings. Once someone really educates themself about Michael Vick there is no way they can say with a straight look on their face this guy deserve a "second" chance.

Let him play......IF anyone will sign him. There have been plenty of players over the years that have had more chances than the average guy would have got. Although, the NFL stands for NOT FOR LONG in "some cases", and didn't stand for that in other cases..... that probably should have.

He can play for the Fish then nomo. Wouldn't need Brown to perform that Wildcat formation.
Heard that the Seahawks may take him since Mora used to be his coach and Hasselbeck and Wallace stink. Also, the Pats, Jaguars and Rams are other possibilities.
Merril Hoge of ESPN Radio doesn't think ANY team will pick him, unless he plays the 6 game UFL season first. This actually will be Vick's third or fourth chance anyway. I guess everyone forgot about his marijuana water bottle episode and the Ron Mexico episode too.

T.O. supports Vick
Wow! T.O. says something ridiculous! Gosh, what's new? Um, hello? Vick LIED TO GOODELL and Arthur Blank about his involvement with dogfighting! Never mind that he paid his debt to society. You don't betray the commissioner of the NFL and not get some kind of punishment for that! Goodell has every right to suspend Vick for any # of games he thinks is appropriate. I doubt that any team will take him this season anyway.
"There are a number of guys that have done far worse things than that and gotten a second chance".
First of all, who said that Vick isn't getting a second chance? And other than killing people, there isn't very many things worse than killing dozens of dogs!
T.O. better just shut up (Oh, that's right. He's incapable of doing that.) and concentrate on what he does best; becoming a cancer for the Bills.

Sounds like he'll be reinstated this year, but will serve a suspension to start the season.
Getting reinstated is the easy part. The hard part is finding a team who's willing to take on the baggage and potential PR nightmare he brings.
