One puff, three times. My BFF talked me into taking two of them. I didn't like any of them. My lungs instantly expelled the polluted air.

When in college, a rep walked through the student union handing out 4-packs of Winstons and Salems. I took a pack of Salems. Smoked all four of them; got sick four times. Decided my body was telling me something. That was in 1958. Never tried it or any other recreational drugs since.

Never did, was probably to tight because when I saw my friend smoking I thought might as well set fire to some dollar bills and watch them burn. Turned out I was right and burning the money would have been a lot less destructive to your health. I had a daughter that smoked from about the age 14 and died of cancer of the throat at 53, her doctors said it was all due to her smoking. Also have a son who is 59 and disabled because of COPD due to smoking since a teen agger, and now can not even walk around the block with out assistance. Two other boys one 49 and one 39 who do not smoke and are in reasonably good health. So to wrap it up I am thankful that neither I or my wife got the habit.

30 years ago I smoked sporadically, in my 20s, when out with friends socially. I was never addicted - never woke up craving a cigarette. Never.

I hike 4-10 miles, 5-6 days a week - I wouldn't think of putting a lit cig to my lips today.

I smoked up to 1/2 pack a day for 10 years. I started at age 17 and quit at age 27. I've been smoke free for 40 years now.

Tried it once while dad was away for a couple months. Mom bought a pack of Kools and shared them with me and my brother. It was sort of a rebellious thing as he would not allow smoking. Even tried one of those little sweet cigars with some friends once but we never inhaled them. I'm glad dad was strict and we never took up smoking. Our families are also smoke free.

While in the Army in the early 1980's, I thought I'd Look cool smoking, but I forgot my lighter or cig pack. I decided it wasn't worth it and am glad it didn't work. LOL

Never. We sell a lot of cigarettes. I don't know how many of our low income customers can afford them @ $8 plus per pack.

yes.., yes I do and not proud of it. Was 8 yrs old when I started sneaking my smokes from my parents (I'm now 63). They quit when I was around 20 (a little late to be roll-models for us kids), but I was addicted. Been trying to quit the last 15+ yrs and successfully cut down from 2 & 3 packs a day to a half pack a day for the last 6 or 7 yrs. Just can't seem to kick the nasty crap totally. Started a smoke study thing with the CKRA in KY. You get a 3 out of 4 chance of getting meds to help you quit, but I believe I am the 1 out of the 4 that is getting the placebo (no meds), because I feel absolutely no affects as they describe I would be experiencing. Guess I'm still on my own. :(

No, I have never smoked. My father was a heavy smoker which caused me to have adult asthma. I have always hated the smell and therefore never even tried smoking.

I don't its expensive and unhealthy. I feel sorry for those that do and want to quit and can't because its so addictive. I have herd so many smokers say just say they despise the day they picked the first one up.

i was out west and there were forest fires and i wondered if anyone has sued big tobacco for all the fires caused by butts going out windows of drivers? Maybe a firefighter tax on smokes? Watch how many dirvers toss lit butts out windows of moving cars.. most cars dont have ash trays either now.
