Thank you for your explanation about road "fees" In my corner of the cosmos, bike path ways do not exist. I am in needs to "share the road" with those that feel this is not a concern of theirs. I do obey the rules.
Hi-vis daywear & binky lighting. Stay to the right as far as possible and safe for me. And above all try and avoid peak commute times. In my experience most drivers are accommodating, its those that intentionally try and hit me that worries me the most. Like you mentioned, there is a lot of waste in the system, make them accountable. One road in question was built not under the recommendation of the DOT but by pressures from the governing bodies that share that stretch of road. Turns out to be a genuine cluster puck, and further more not two years from completion Dot is right back out there patching it. Still a mess after 20 years. YH
