I'm almost as old as you, or at least I'm getting there. I still remember quite well the price of gas being 24 to 28 cents a gallon, and even lower at times down to 21 and 22 cents. When it was the lower prices my parents were so thrilled at the one to four cents a gallon less than the normal price. People would be ecstatic at the price being $2.49 a gallon now; and even that would be too high. Yes, the prices will be up higher. I've known that as well since the 1970's or 1980's, along with the price of food and it's all higher, and too high in some cases. You have a great day and weekend of it.
