"My older car which I am forced to run garbage E10 gas in gets 10mpg higher than this average and would get 44+mpg highway if I was able to find ethanol free gas. Closest station that sells untainted gas is more than 250 miles from my home." There's a site which I'll pass on to you for ethanol free gas! If you're getting that much already from your older vehicle, and if you're planning on keeping it until whenever, say for the next five to 10 years, then I COULD help you get better mileage from it. I've done it before and have gotten anywhere from 15 to 35% more for my own and 7 to 24% with others, but it all depend on how much you can do, time, how much you can spend, etc. Even from the factory, they had a few cars that got over 50 mpg back in the 70's and 80's, and I know that for a fact 'cause I was around and bought one that only got a tad less! I even improved the mileage on that one by over 20%, and just didn't have enough money to do more!
