i noticed the speed limit was about uk, right off the bat, you would think the 40 mph speed limit would have said something too... LOL

Hi rjhenn, I noticed your good comment on: Can Letting Trucks Drive Faster Make Roads Safer? Most members never read the whole article. Want to become cross country buddies?? Warren

Anyhow, I have acquaintances on the Urbandale PD and I got asked long ago to help with parade security.

Been a while since I was in Norwalk, used to go to bike races at the track there back in the 60's, friend had a dirt track Harley I helped with. Also last time I was there was as a coach in 1987 for a state football playoff game, maybe like the 2nd round game, I can't remember back that far just now. Anyhow, yes Urbandale has a very large parade and a carnival/rides, and later on fireworks - the fireworks used to be at Urbandale High School, now they moved them 3 years ago to the park just south of the Hy Vee on Douglas and 86th.

I shoulda looked you up over 4 July, I have been helping the police for the past nearly 28 years, doing parade intersection control along parade routes. I used to help start one of the many lines until about 18 or 19 years ago when I got switched to patrol on the parade route. Do you ever go to the Urbandale parade?

" But you insist that everyone needs to be defined by the average psychology for their sex." No, that's not the same as saying that gender is reflected in psychology. Once again, you argue against a strawman of your own making, GTH

You're welcome, got it by poking around.

"We are not defined primarily by our sex organs." True. But gender is much more than just sex organs. It's psychology as well -- the gender we identify with and how we relate to that one and the opposite one. And why those genders exist and their function is a great big fact, which you as the king of "facts and logic" dismiss. GTH

'And your arguments for it tend to fall apart without the "totally" being implied."' Maybe the word you are groping for is "fundamental". On a broader note, you tend to block out any position that is not your own, on abortion, on marijuana, even on gun rights. ' RJ has spoken, the matter is closed.' GTH

by gas_too_high  May 20, 2014

""Basically, you're claiming that each of us is totally defined by their sexual organs." No, not totally, but gender/sexuality is an essential part of who each of us is. ("Totally" is your strawman. You do that a lot). GTH
