Hi LanguageMan1 -- thanks for your replies! You are right -- party affiliation does not matter. It is too easy to make assumptions, and I admit I fell into that trap. As for solar maintenance, all I've really done with my set of ten-year-old panels is occasionally wash them and wipe them down to get the gunk off them. I'm not aware of any other maintenance. My understanding of wind turbines is they need regular checks, lubrication, etc. for both safety and efficiency, given they are mechanical devices and not solid state like solar. But I am not an expert on wind energy by any stretch.

Oh, yeah, Republican still hasn't done enough either. Neither of them does these days.

Also, most likely we’re all going up on gas prices. We had just started a downward trend here, but that over now. We had three or four stations down to $3.13 a gallon, now they're back up to $3.33 and $3.35 a gallon. The last one just went back up yesterday. One station in Miami is already $3.89 a gallon. I'd get gassed up now as it's going up more. I wish I could have told everyone yesterday, but I couldn't make it online other than to post prices in the morning. Sorry. you'll probably see the average hit $3.99 a gallon or more there soon.

Also, you had another post shortly thereafter, and that was also good. But, in the case of Maine, they have more than enough wind power and the maintenance is low on wind as well. If you really want top performance from the solar panels you've got to maintain them properly. I make use of solar myself. I'm experimenting from time to time with hydrogen as well. Would like to make use of wind as well; more than enough of it here every day or rather the vast majority of days just like the daylight.

You're first reponse to the Maine governor topic was great! The 2nd was not! This has nothing to do with him being Republican, and if he was Democrat I'd say the same thing. Basically, the previous Democratic governor signed off on it in 2008, but he didn't approve enough being done before he left office. They have enough wind, not enough money or time. Plus, big business isn't going in with the money like they had hoped. They want 3000 megawatts by 2020, 2000 by 2015 and they have 450 megawatts as of now. They're not going to make it in time for 2015 unless they put up somewhere between 600 and 720 new turbines, and it would mean at least 2 a day for the rest of the year. Not gonna happen. It the same thing I posted there basically.

Thank you for your comment. I appreciate it.

Thanks a million for your comments. IMHO, US innovation should help create +ve results & create lower gas prices.
