GasBuddy Blog -- The Energy Information Administration released its weekly report on the condition of petroleum inventories in the United States today.

Here are some highlights:

CRUDE INVENTORIES:
Crude oil inventories increased by 5.9 million barrels to a total of 375.1 million barrels. At 375.1 million barrels, inventories are 37.5 million barrels above last year (11.1%) and are above the upper limit of the average range.

GASOLINE INVENTORIES:
Gasoline inventories increased by 1.4 million barrels to 198.6 million barrels. At 198.6 million barrels, inventories are down 6.4 million barrels, or 3.1% lower than last year. Here's how individual regions and their gasoline inventory fared last week: East Coast (+1.3mb);...

Like a lot of bloggers have said, it doesn't matter if inventory is high. We are all prisoners of gasoline. Prices will remain high -- remember Greed.

I wonder how accurate those inventory lists are. Gas in OKC is $2.96 this morning.on I-40, That's what I want to see.

Glad I filled my heating oil tanks early in the Summer. It's now 60 cents/gal higher (locally) and distillate inventories are running low so no break in price any time soon.

Oh, my, my, my. Just weeks ago we read of inventories being at all time lows. What gives? Are they getting ready for their next surprise now, to withhold these inventories from the market so they can have their $3.50+ gallon gas price again? What better proof of antitrust violations do we have -- and not a person in control in DC will lift a finger because too much of his campaign money comes from these cronies.
