Gas station in Michigan leads the way, drops price 24c/gal in a day

GasBuddy Blog -- Gasoline prices always tend to rise faster than they fall, or at least that's what we've all believed and is certainly the norm. This time, one station in Grand Rapids, Michigan dropped its price 24c/gal in one swoop, leading other stations to follow.

Generally a station will drop its price slowly to make a bit more money instead of dropping prices all at once, but in this rare case, a station dropped to $3.11/gal, and even the station across the street didn't want to match, and 12 hours later, two stations across from each other were charging a very different amount, $3.35/gal and the other stood at $3.11/gal.

Cases like this highlight the purpose of GasBuddy- finding cheap gas, and taking advantage of the...

It's funny, how the gas prices were all dropping to around $3.00/ gal here in VA and then over night, 0.15 cent increase and a steady increase to almost $3.30. They have dropped back down some over the past couple of weeks, but still no where near the $3 mark.

Why don't you record prices that I report. Speedway in Whitmore lake is $2.959 for premium and I have reported it twice and you keep showing the cheapest in the state at $3.199

keep dropping nice chunks, but not just gas, but also diesel. Remember, diesel is the motor of the economy.

SO driving past a gas station that offers the E85 corn oil fuel. I noticed the prices. Unleaded gas was 3.29 and the E85 was 3.49

So this "plummeting" gas price they are talking about is very temporary. It will shoot back up probably after the new year.
