A lot of companies would rather "pay to repair" than "pay to maintain". Stupid.

I once was amazed at the stupidity (greed comments) on this forum. After the re-election of Obama, I am no longer amazed or surprised. Just sad...
We lowered our education standards instead of raising them and this is what we have come to. A populace without even the smallest understanding of what this country was founded on, let alone simple economic principles.
When you lower the bar, most people lower their aim/goal. Sad, but true.

With the crazy high fuel prices they should be able to rebuild that refinery and pay for it in cash.

Failure to inspect properly, or often enough, if at all? That's negligence. And why does the consumer have to pay for the refiner's negligence?

That 2.5 million the contributed toward Romney's campaign would have been better spent on pipe. Either way, cost is passed on to the consumer. I don't buy Chevron fuel unless the local station is participating in a gas price war - once in the last 6 months.

sounds just like everyone else, trying to get by with what you have, and yes you knew it was cracked, but neglected to keep and eye on it.. and it got away from them.. a fire before they realized it.. wouldn't want to spend any money on it and keep a fire from happening..??
