Drove mine this morning -- fog and mist -- windshield wipers don't work -- top down -- fun anyway. That's what it's about.

Classic cars are fun but expensive and most of them don't offer any kind of return on investment, rather become a cash black hole. For the rare few that have classics that actually appreciate in value, they are a breed apart from most of us.

Although I never had one, I also enjoyed muscle cars. Also when I was in late teens I had wanted to get a Cord but couldn't come up with the money

We have people in my area that even with the latest cars can't seem to get over that speed regardless of the speed limit

polar: yes, but around here that doesn't seem the case. When they're out and about, they don't seem to have a third gear that gets them past 35 mph, thus clogging up winding two lane roads that sadly cannot be widened but are major arteries into several counties.

as for the Classics... there is a place for them, but not on the roads at 35 mph when the speed limit is 55 mph or higher.

I agree on the lack of fuel efficiency with old heavy battleship cruisers. But aside from the repetitive "price too high" can't say I agree with you, tomok. D169 already stated it all.

Tomok said: "Old vehicles that are heavy, have very low MPG, can be unsafe"
Heavy gas guzzlers are unsafe? Wow, you gotta explain that one.
Tomok said: "Boys drive these cars to project an image they usually don't have with what God should have gave them at birth."
Sounds like *someone* is upset with God because he wasn't provided all of the "tools" he needed. Either that, or he's been checkin' the ... "boys"! LMAO
Tomok said: "They are still trying to get that image they never had in old age, by owning a classic car, a dream forever unfulfilled!"
An opinion. Can't back this one up with any facts - which is pretty much true with everything you have stated.
Tomok said: ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe,
Here we go again with gas mileage being, somehow, related to safety. "VERY" safe, even.
Up to this point, all you have stated is opinion. Did you not get what you wanted at birth, which, in turn, didn't let you get what you "want" as a teen, which carried on to "old age"?
Tomok said: "The price of fuel at the pump is too high!"
And when we get to the very last sentence in your post, I can finally say "You got THAT right!"

Tomok - go out and hug some trees - apparently that's what you're used to.
Classic vehicles are interesting and fun to own & drive, especially if you've done the restoration work.

Old vehicles that are heavy, have very low MPG, can be unsafe, are sometimes very expensive and are Not a good value for the money. Boys drive these cars to project an image they usually don't have with what God should have gave them at birth. Visit a car museum to remember your youth, its much cheaper! They are still trying to get that image they never had in old age, by owning a classic car, a dream forever unfulfilled! Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. Consider using other forms of less expensive transportation to lower your cost. The price of fuel at the pump is too high! 12/22/2012

We have Rod Runs on N. Meridian each weekend during the summer. People bring lawn chairs to sit and watch all the classic cars. It is great entertainment!
However, with this heat....makes it really tough on spectators and Classics without A/C.
