with such finnicky crop, let's hope the airheads inside the Beltway see it fit to cancel the EtOH mandate.

hopefully it will end the EtOH mandate, rather than increasing it to the E15 that's harmful all around.

Fantastic. Here's hoping that it lays waste to all of the Ethanol Plants and as for the supposed representatives of the people who support Ethanol I hope that it lays waste to their careers as well as the careers of the lobbyist who support them.

Persistent drought is taking a toll on producers of ethanol around the United States, and corn has become so scarce almost two dozen ethanol plants have halted production.
Just maybe Mother nature is taking care of the ethanol problem. Everyone has expressed there mind on ethanol as being no good, It is corrosive to Aluminum, Plastic and Rubber.. Corn is the the kitchen table not for making gas, and it cost more to make ethanol than it does to make 100% gas. And their is no shortage of oil, if you don't believe it go to usga.gov and check it out...

I like ethanol. But this is why we need flex vehicles and flex fuel so we can put in the best mix. Sometimes it will be a lot of ethanol and sometimes it will be none. Sometimes it might be a new fuel. We need to be able to move from one fuel market to another. That would help stabilize the markets.

So Ethanol prices are going to skyrocket making it a useless alternative although most people say it destroys engines anyway. Time to move on to something else for an alternative fuel.

Not only in the drought idling ethanol plants, which is a good thing, it could very well start idling food plants, which is NOT a good thing. When corn supplies run low, the last place we should be putting corn is into our gas tanks. Stop ethanol production NOW!

Maybe the STIMULUS for the farmers is over.

Drought idles US ethanol plants; North Dakota proves an exception? Is this drought a good thing or a wolf in sheeps clothing? NO FUEL FROM FOOD! NO *E-5, *E-10, *E-15 OR *E-100 –> ONLY 'E-0' fuel is Allowed! Somebody has put a stop to this ethanol crap in gasoline, Sneeky certainly isn't going to do anything about it. Drives vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. The price of fuel at the pump is too high!

Jeeze! What are we going to do now, import sugar ethanol from Brazil? Come on, let's get rid of this ethanol. I may be paranoid, but I just learned I have to replace my catalytic converter in my '96 RAV 4. I use non-ethanol gas in my vehicles and power equipment exclusively since I had to replace the fuel pump in my '90 Daytona a couple of years ago. I'm thinking that using ethanol all those years probably killed the converter. It's probably running up the cost of corn flakes, grits, Fritos and corn liquor too!
