As long as they stay competitive, that's good news. Doing it to become popular is a bad idea.

GM to produce next-generation Camaro in Michigan, after GM and Chrysler got their bail out money from the government. The business enviroment changes and now they will bulld the Camaro in the US, get a tax break for the business and give the workers less wages. I will never own or drive a Camaro, I will drive my current vehicle into the ground before buying anything new, used, EV, Inbred, diesel, hydrogen, alternative fuel, CNG, concept and certainly NOT a Fiat, Prius, Tesla, Leaf, Volt or an NYC/hurricaneSandy Special 'exploding submarine' Fiskar Karma Inbred! Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, vehicle manufactures Produce and the population ‘Drives’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. The price of fuel at the pump is too high! XII/XXII/MMXII!

Naturally, it's not possible for this type of decision to satisfy everyone.

GM cost US taxpayer money. We never will get it back. The money would be well spent to develop some of the big manufactoring jobs that had gone overseas, like steel.

Not seeing it said anywhere, but maybe a consolation prize for the Volt.

My last two cars were made in Oshawa. 2004 Monte Carlo Intimidator which I traded in on the 2010 Camaro SS i'm driving now. No problems with either so far.

I'll never buy a new GM vehicle as long as I live. GM stole from the taxpayer and has used accounting chicanery to claim that they have repaid the stolen money.

No wonder your disguised Chevy Avalanche 'shakes, rattles, and rolls' so much Brother rodz.... Even my teenager knows to read the vehicle sticker before making the major mistake of buying a truck made in Mexico.
Great that the next Camaro will be Made in the USA, although there is nothing wrong with the current model from Canada. I didn't purchase the newest Shelby until Ford dropped the Mexican six speed tranny that occassionally sounded like Mexican jumping beans. What a mess that left behind in the quarter mile!

Aviator Rob, Tks, your diametrically opposite to some of your boorish countrymen, like rodzilla123 - have you ever been to Canada; just as I thought. I'll help you get there, with some kind directions, it's just south of Tierra Del Fuego, enjoy the trip, your sure to enjoy it!

GM make a good looking car that people wants not specialty low volume cars that can fly to about 200mph in a 35 mph zone.

Time to bring back the Firebird...Smokey and the Bandit..The Rockford Files..Knight Rider..the car has a deeper imprint in North American psyche than its cousin, the Camaro.
Prior to its most recent reincarnation, the Camaro (and Firebird) were built at a plant in Ste. Therese,Quebec, just outside Montreal. This plant no longer exists.
Maybe the new Firebird will be built in Oshawa, replacing the Camaro.

OMG!!!! Is Government Motors actually going to build a Car on American soil, instead of Canada, Mexico or some other Needy Country. My Cadillac Escalade was assembled in Mexico, in 2004!!!
