‘Glory year’ expected in U.S. energy

Business News -- The United States' booming oil sector is seen as the best place to invest among global energy executives, but a growing shortage of skilled labour could put a serious crimp in expansion plans.

In a survey of industry executives to be released Monday, U.K.-based GL Noble Denton, an energy service company, said the industry in the United States can look forward to a "glory year," with record activity despite concerns about tougher regulations and availability of needed workers.

"Our research shows huge confidence in the U.S. oil and gas industry, which is clearly supported by strong growth in the Americas, despite a number of potential barriers," said Arthur Stoddart, the company's executive vice-president for the Americas.

It may look like a 'Glory Year' now but what about later?? The energy sector is the only bright spot in the very sad economy! Four more years for the US economy to be much less than what it could be. 'Coming out of the closet' Sneeky's lousy, smoke and mirrors, lack of jobs, dog and pony show and in the crapper economy, the jobs are Not here. Sneeky's economy is not improving but continues to hurt the population and the job numbers continue to be down, job numbers have not improved that much and may not! No Thanks to the Mindless Pinhead Sheep that voted this bozo back in office. Big Oil and Big Gas sells fuel and natural gas on the world market for higher prices. The US ‘oil and natural gas resources’ belong to the citizens of this country and are to be used by those same citizens! The price at the pump needs to go down to $2/gallon - $3, $3.50/gallon or *$4.00 is Not the new low! More Refineries are Not the answer, the answer is Stop Exporting Fuel! Take care of the domestic fuel market first, above all else! Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, vehicle manufactures Produce and the population ‘Drives’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. Bad teachers should be kicked out. Kids are supposed to learn. Takes combination of parents, teachers and the kids. All should be required to sign an agreement that someone of the 3 should be fined, jailed or something if the child has not improved. Schools do not teach any longer. These students learn nothing. Any wonder why the US is half way down of countries college graduation rate. Foreign students learn better. WHAT HAPPENED TO OURS. wE DID MUCH BETTER 50 YEARS AGO.

Oh those pesky workers with their never ending desire for a living wage, safe working conditions and, horror of horrors, health coverage. Can't we go back to the recession of a few years ago when folks were desperate and would take any job we offered regardless of how bad it paid, how far away from their families they had to live or how dangerous it was. Man, free market economics is a real drag when the shoe's on the other foot.

The money has and is still great but you have to actually work to earn it and fewer these days are willing to put in the effort and learn the trade. The newer workers of the day are way softer than they used to be. Most of the 20 - 30 year olds can't even keep up to the 50 - 60 year olds.
