Green industries eye "fiscal cliff" boost

Business Green -- Avoiding the so-called "fiscal cliff" could provide a major boost to the US biofuels, energy efficiency, and electric car sectors, as well as the fast-expanding wind energy industry.

While the decision to extend the crucial Production Tax Credit (PTC) for wind farm developers was widely praised by renewable energy and environmental groups, the bill that averted potentially crippling tax hikes and spending cuts also extended incentives and subsidy schemes for a wide range of clean technologies.
Under the new deal, tax credits for energy efficient homes and appliances will continue until the end of 2013, while a subsidy knocking 10 per cent off the cost of electric scooters and three wheelers, up to a saving of $2,500, was approved for another year.

What's wrong with this picture?

Need a strong fuel to boost our power, and wind and solar will not cut it now. Maybe later but from what I read, they are at least 40 years from development at this rate to compete in out use of energy today.
