Murkowski unveils blueprint for energy policy

Anchorage Daily News -- WASHINGTON -- The Senate's top Republican on energy issues, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, has crafted a blueprint for U.S. energy policy that calls for increased drilling while opposing laws to cap greenhouse gases that are blamed for global warming.

"Energy 20/20" is a signal of how the Republicans want to proceed on energy policy in the coming years as the nation wrestles with contentious debates over oil drilling, fracking and climate change.

Murkowski, top ranking Republican on the Senate energy committee, argues energy is too often seen as a necessary evil rather than embraced for what it brings.

A look at the other side of the argument for possible increased greenhouse climate gas realeases and using the energy sector as a reason for this very lousy economy and lack of jobs to recover. What are her real reasons for this to happen? Is there Big Oil, Big Gas support behind her reasons and decisions? Increased crude oil drilling so Big Oil can sell their fuel production on the open market for more and more profits. Big Gas can do the same with their fuel sales on the open market for more and more profits. Increased fracking to produce more natural gas but with potential harm to the underground water and possible well water conmtamination. What To Do, What To Do? The US ‘oil and natural gas resources’ belong to the citizens of this country and are to be used by those same citizens! The price at the pump needs to go down to $2/gallon - $3, $3.50/gallon or *$4.00 is Not the new low! More Refineries are Not the answer, Stop exporting fuel is! Take care of the domestic fuel market First and above all else! Vehicle manufactures Produce and the population ‘Drives’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. The price of fuel at the pump is too high!
