Natural Compressed Gas stations on edge of ‘fuel revolution’

The Miami Herald -- South Florida gas prices are heading up again after steadily declining since April. But Jeff Greene is hardly worried that higher gasoline prices will hurt his business.
In fact, it may even be a good thing for Greene?s bottom line.
The reason: Greene runs Fort Lauderdale-based Wise Gas Inc., which operates the region?s first and only compressed natural gas station open to the public. Since the station opened last summer, a gallon of pressurized natural gas has held steady at about $2.19 per gallon ? one-third cheaper than regular gasoline.
Greene, who heads up the business with his wife Christine Slager-Greene, said Wise Gas has partnered with Hardy Brothers Inc. ? owned by the fuel company Port Consolidated Inc. ? for a second commercial station in Pompano Beach, which is now opera

After uploading a prior vesion..I and workmates decided we wanted a longer reply...reading this version is optional...but you may find it funny!

UPDATED for Comic Humor Relief:
I just checked with Google...The Pony Express had 184 stations, 120 riders, and 400 horses in 1860. 10 days to get mail to California Republic.

EXTRA, EXTRA, READ ALL ABOUT It!!!!!

Perhaps we should begin reestablishing those stations supplemented by the telegraph system...Hmmm new jobs...Hey everyone I just found NEW JOBS, NEW UNFILLED JOBS.

Must be 18-28 (OPM/USPS job age-restrictions to be a rider-no age restrictions on other support jobs; Station Manager or Cowhand, teletype copy-boy) and if male, have signed up for the DoD selective service draft, (potential for civil war you know) and have been raised on an EPA-certified farm with six or more horses, goats, and chickens. Must like dogs and other animals. Can catch, clean, and cook a rabbit within 2 hours. Can accurately shoot a single-action 6-gun up to 50 ft, (oops) BATF may not want that listed as a job requirement-we provide up to 30 Chicago-style bullets per month. USPS-qualified riders travel only 400 miles in any 24-hour period, (Union Riders (PERU#59) can ride up to 500 miles per day) No DOT weigh stations, 3 home-cooked meals per day; must like CORN-bread, Corn Flakes, CORN-on-the cob, CORN Fritters, Creamed CORN, Grits, CORN-biscuits, Cob salad, Pickled-CORN, pop-CORN, Candy CORN, and CORN jerky, are provided. Bunk with your horse to eliminate a need for TSA pre-departure inspections. Horse must have had all EPA and California-Required rabies-equine shots (CARRY Horse’s shot record in saddle’s summer-glove box). One 5-gallon bucket of OATS and CORN (EPA-certified water available on demand; except in California, which requires a California Water-control Board form 444 with 48 hours in advance) provided at each stop for your horse. Additionally, while in the California Republic, you must clean up your animal droppings when within 100 feet of a school, church, or government building (California EPA Supplement.) California Republic Dropping Excise Avoidance Permits are available for $99.99 for a booklet of 10 dropping waivers, purchased at the USPS. Turn each Sherriff-validated permit into the town Waste Management division office showing location of waste. Ensure your horse urinates only on the south-east end of town (near the Livery) behind a sage brush, cactus, or tumble weed and away from the schools or the streets where school children traverse; DoE requirement. May on occasion be required to ride shotgun (must be certified by a Pinkerton-Weapon Master with 12-guage gun) on the Wednesday 08:15, Stage (not AMTRAK) leaving Oklahoma City with the Dept of Treasury weekly gold shipment (oops) the Pinkertons and DOJ/Secret Service may not have wanted me to say that. And oh yes...we need 240 Radio Operators for the telegraph must be FCC qualified, and proficient in IMC (15WPM) and telephone pole/wire maintenance positions. Further, must be OSHA-10 and 50-ft height certified, must be able to lift 50-pounds, load, drive, wearing 2.5 inch cow-leather shoulder and lap seatbelt or 2 inch lap-rope with square-knot---may not drink alcohol (Fire-water) or take Doc-prescribed medications (or Snake Oil), or read the newspaper when un-chocked and in motion. Coffee thermos- in cup-holders are permitted only while driving WITH a Federally-licensed (Pinkerton) Shotgun rider/driver. Must carry Federally-issued buckboard (with double-wide endorsement) picture permit, with standard $750.00, buckboard insurance, and Republic of California, DOT safety-inspection documents (wheels, tongue weight, safety restraints, thermos-holder, friction brakes and parking chain for uphill locations, side-boards if over 25 ft in length [tongue-to-tail-board] . Must be able to unload a fully loaded (500 Lbs) maintenance double-wide-buckboard (within 60 minutes) and be able to use OSHA-approved shovels, post-hole diggers, and field-wire cable-splicers, while displaying knowledge and use of all safety equipment to include cold-weather gloves. There is a $100.00 BONUS for skills with TEXAS CORN-field type barbed wire. JOBS! JOBS! JOBS! JOBS! JOBS!
Starting pay for riders is $100 per week with benefits. These jobs will start as private sector-jobs (managed by each township Chamber of Commerce--not civil, state, or Federal, government magistrate, treasurer, or mayor) until an Illinois senator sees these 728 jobs requiring mandatory U.S. government-provided healthcare and place these jobs into civil service jobs under the National Parks Department and transfer them from the USPS by executive order. The IRS will require a flat 17% percent tax on all earned money and tips (must report tips to each station master by the 15th of each month on IRS Form 1. File IRS Form 1040 (Short form) found in IRS Pub 17, the year the money was earned, no later than midnight April 15th the following year. USPS will stay open until midnight of the 15th unless that falls on a weekend then it will be the next Monday night. Cowboy type hard-hats will not be optional unless the rider is a member of the PERU (Pony Express Riders Union# 59). P.S. Lincoln was running for election in 1860.

As more and more Natural Gas vehicles are bought AND older vehicles are converted to CNG, the price for CNG fuel will start to go up. Also, more CNG is needed to get the same distance as crude oil fuels (less MPG), so the price of CNG needs to remain low and lower.
Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. Consider using other forms of less expensive transportation to lower your cost.
The price of fuel at the pump is too high!
