New Refinery Coming to Trenton

KFYR-TV -- The Bakken pumps out hundreds of thousands of barrels of oil per day.
But with only one refinery in the state, most of that oil is sent down to the gulf or to coastal refineries.
But that could soon change. It will be a skimming refinery, meaning it will only produce diesel, which is just what the Bakken needs.
There are around 180 rigs in the Bakken, and in one day, a drilling rig can use anywhere from 25-hundred to 35-hundred gallons of diesel.

The skimming refinery will be about 4 miles west of Trenton on an old beet farm. There will be two pipelines running to the refinery, and 12 docks for trucks to unload oil.

"We will be using Bakken crude. We`re looking at about 8,000 barrels of diesel. Of course there`s 42 gallons per barrel that gives you the gallons that would be available...

Use local Bakken skimming crude oil to make diesel for the drilling rigs. Less transportation cost, less fuel trucks on the roads, the diesel is not exported or removed from the area and the fuel tanks are always full. Trenton? North Dakota! Drive vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. The price of fuel at the pump is too high!

Good they can refine their own oil in place for diesel needed.

Oh, I forgot, refineries do not want to produce an abundance of gasoline because that would lower prices and that would hurt their profits!
