not sure where they get the figures from, I haven't gotten any "better off than before" and I live in a rural/small town area.

Just as long as it is the INCOME of MILLIONS OF WORKERS that went up 4% instead of just the income of the TOP 2% going up 50%!! That has been the problem for the last 10 yrs!!

Big business is still holding back on hiring - that's trickle down - it doesn't happen until the rich have gotten richer first.

My son went to North Dakota and I considered going too. He can make big bucks as a welder or working labor jobs but my 15+ years of customer service office experience will find me a $12 - $15 an hour job and I won't be able to find a place to rent on that income. I might have trouble finding a job with benefits too. I'm currently earning considerably more with excellent benefits. I just don't much care for my working conditions since I never was one to be micro-managed. Teachers are barely making a living wage condsidering the news story I watched. The school districts are buying apartment buildings because the demand for teachers is so high and affordable housing is hard to find. They put 2 teachers in each apartment. That's probably ok if you are married to a teacher but if you have a family it may not be a good fit. Rent is crazy there. My son paid $1400 a month for space rent for his travel trailer. Electric and water were included but camping is all done when winter comes. He left early November because it was just too cold.

The opportunity presents itself. But you do have to get off your duff to answer the door bell.

A rising tide lifts all boats. Allow one area of the economy to prosper, and the multiplier effect will spread out across the whole country (unless it is taxed away).

Just imagine how much income would be lifted without the oppressive rules of the Obama administration.

is that why the average income is down $4,000 since NOBAMA took office? that's 8% welcome to the new economy called tax the rich and then ask where did all the jobs go? When will we see 500,000 jobs added in one month? all other recessions have a BOOM factor not this one why???? What was his paper on anyways?

I can agree with feeling the downturn, still not making near what I was but disagree with when. I saw the changes to my business right after 9/11/01 and have not even begun to come back.
