duh! And how much did this study cost the members of AAA? Good use of membership funds, I'm sure.

More technology to address this has been in development for over a decade. Used to see reviews back in the early 2000's when stability control was still in beginning stages of roll out. As with most new tech it will only help the high end at the beginning.

I guess the only thing that would be worse is
a drunk driver
falling asleep
while testing.

As a society, we are working ourselves into the ground thru too much activity in each day. We need to learn to relax, slow down, and take a nap once in a while.

People need to think about the risk involved with sleepy driving and pull over, instead of ignoring it.

I'm not sure we need signs to know when we are drowsy. Highways (on the east coast at least) need more places to pull off if you start feeling drowsy.

My driving is pretty much ten miles per day, five miles per segment. If I have a nap before I leave I am ok.

Modern day vehicles are build with lounge seats and full blown entertainment centers and have all but eliminated road noise; creating the perfect setting for a nap. Pretty simple. It is just going to get worse in the future as manufacturers work harder to give the drivers less to do and make their vehicles more like moving luxury palaces. Vehicles that drive themselves can't come soon enough to relieve these problems. Program your vehicle to start itself and bring the interior to a preset temperature and humidity level and be ready and waiting to take you to your destination. Then it takes you there and drops you off and goes somewhere and parks itself. Stuff that was in comic books and science fiction cartoons when I was a kid is becoming reality. I never though I would actually be around to see it happen. In the meantime, we need to try to stay awake and not get distracted while the innovators finish doing their jobs ;)
