A few questions.
What happens if you get on the plane and your car seat does not fit the aircraft seat? How fast can the carseat be removed in an emergency so it does not block other people in the row?

"Not all car seats can fit on standard airplane seats,..." Not all passengers can fit on standard airplane seats either, but they try anyway, so why should it be a problem letting the little ones be a bit safer?

Yeah, Bloomberg would love this. Add to his growing list of government oppression ie...max size of coke 16 oz., gun control via recommending the cops go on strike and trying to make you say you are not in favor of tradition marriage like Mr. Chick-fil-A. I say coke is fine up two and including a 55 gallon drum, the 2nd amendment is in the constitution so leave it alone and traditional marriage is great and can be supported with speech as per the 1st amendment. Bloomberg needs to be mayor of San Francisco or Key West to promote his craziness.

Great idea. Sadly the cattle car seating on planes doesn't make it very workable.

Until aircraft seating is standardized I don't think it would work very well.

Airplane seating is already too close -- this won't help!

It makes perfect sense. If car seats are mandatory in an auto, they should be mandatory on a plane.

That should freak people out when they see someone getting ready just in case the plane crashes.

That is a good idea and maybe they could add a cry room. Where you ever on a long flight and a kid or baby was crying, my stomach would be in a knot and there was little chance I could tune it out.

It may be a good idea, but unless you're renting a car at your destination, do you really want a bulky car seat along on a trip?

The car seat manufactures haven't sold enough seats so they come up with another con job and just because they are airplane company's they will be charged ten fold over the exorbitant price the car owner had to pay

Do you want your child safe or not? Should be the parents choice and THEY pay for whatever choice THEY make. Everyone needs to take responsibility for whatever choice THEY make. Not the government.

Maybe the airlines could have seats that could convert to car seats for infants and small children.

Have seats made into the current seats. Some car manuafacturers like Dodge did it in the Caravans.

How many times have I wrestled that car seat into an airline seat. The only worse was carrying the car seat through the airport and security.
